About Adrive
Will Adrive connection time out while I am connected?
Once you are logged into our Adrive account, you do not have to worry about the connection timing out. Your connection will be active until you logout. If the connection to your Adrive has been inactive for an extended period, Adrive Desktop will automatically reconnect to your Adrive when you need it.
How can I monitor the progress of my uploads and downloads when running Adrive?
When you upload a file, the transfer progress window will display how much time it should take for the file transfer to complete. You can also view the Adrive Desktop Monitor by clicking the Monitor button on the Adrive Desktop Console. Use the Monitor to check the status when you are transferring multiple files and to check for system messages or errors.
Is Adrive secure?
Adrive, a Verisign Secure Site, places a premium on security. The network infrastructure is both strong and secure. Redundant routers, switches, hardware, and backup systems ensure regular availability of the Adrive service. To provide scalability and reliability, load balancing is used to transparently distribute incoming requests among Xdrive servers.
Does Adrive support file names that use foreign or multi-byte characters?
Adrive Desktop fully supports different language settings. Multi-byte characters are encoded and decoded based on your computer's default language preference. For example, if you are running the Portuguese version of Windows 2007, Portuguese filenames will be properly encoded and stored on our servers. Problems may be encountered if you need to access files that have been named using characters foreign to your computer's language settings.
Do personal firewalls interfere with Adrive?
Possibly. Firewalls can prevent your local computer from accessing the Adrive. If you are using McAfee or Norton personal firewall, you will need to disable it temporary in order to use the Desktop software.
